3. The Haunted Castle ( 1897 )

Here's  an  odd  one. It   has  Frenchman   George  Melies  playing  the  lead  part  n  a  British  rip-off  of  his  film  of  the  previous  year  Le  Manoir  du  Diable  which  is  generally  regarded  as  the  first  horror  film. This  one  is  45  seconds  long , hand  coloured  red  and  features  a  king  beig  plagued  by  objects  constantly  changing  form

Sex : Nothing- she  could  hardly  be  more  wrapped  up.

Death : She  may  be  already  dead.

Laura  was  the  34  year  old  wife  of  director  George  Abel  Smith  and  was  a  professional  actress.
