478 The House Where Ghosts Dwell ( 1982 )

 This  haunted  house  movie  was a  joint  American-Japanese  production.  A  couple  and  their  daughter  move  to  Japan  where the  husband  has  photographic assignments. The  house was  previously  the  site home  of  a  Samurai  who  killed  his  wife  and  her  lover  before  himself  and  now  their  ghosts  want  to  push the  newcomers  the  same  way. This  isn't  very  scary  mainly  because  the  ghosts  conferring  suggetss  Beetlejuice  or  Casper  rather  than  The  Exorcist  but  there's  one  or  two  good  moments. 

Susan George ( as Laura )

This  was  Susan's  final  horror  film.

Mako  Hattori ( as Otami )

Mako  began  working  as  a  model  and  dancer  in  Tokyo  in  the  mid-sewventies, She  came  to  America  in  the  eighties  but  since  the  nineties  she  has  divided  her  time  between the  USA  and  Japan  where  she  works  mainly  in  television. This  is  her  only  English  language  film.

Mayumi  Umeds ( as  Noriko )
