331 Three on a Meathook ( 1972 )

This  low  budget  offering  was  inspired  by  the  Ed  Gein  murders and  precedes  the  somewhat  similar  Texas  Chainsaw  Massacre. It's  OK  in  parts  if  you  don't  mind  the  amateur-ish  acting   but  does  have  a  long  saggy  bit  in  the  middle.

Debbie  and  three  girlfriends  go  out  boating  but  their  car  breaks  down  and  they  accept  an  offer  of  hospitality  from  Billy  ( James  Pickett  )  against  the  wishes  of  his  Pa  ( Charles  Kissinger ). By  the  morning  all  four  have  been  killed  and  Pa  blames  Billy, Billy  goes  off  to  town  and  picks  up  a  barmaid  Sherry,

Death : Survives

Sherry  had  a  brief  career  as  an  actress  in  low  budget  films  and  regional  theatre  in  the  seventies. She  is  now  69.

Madelyn  Buzzard  ( as  Becky )

Sex  : No

Death : Receives  a  pick-axe  through  her  abdomen

Madelyn  has  made  just  three  films, two  in  the  early  seventies  and one  in  1998

Linda  Thompson ( as  Debbie )

Sex : Debbie  has  sex  with  an  older  man

Death : Debbie  is  stabbed  to  death  in  the  bath  tub

Linda  was  a  former  beauty  contestant  and  this  was  her  first  film. Shortly  afterwards she  hooked  up  with  Elvis  Presley. She  gave up  acting  in  the  early  nineties  and  became  a  writer. She  is  now  67.

Marsha  Tarbis  ( as  Carol )

Sex : Carol  swims  topless

Death : Decapitated  with  an  axe

This  was  Marsha's  only  film,

Carolyn  Thompson  ( as  Bobby )

Sex : Her  corpse  is  topless

Death : Shot  in  the  abdomen

This  was  Carolyn's  only  film. She  wrote  a  novel  Firstborn  published  in  1983. She  is  now  61.

Kiersten  Lane  ( as  Christine )

Sex : Her  corpse  is  topless

Death : Shot  in  the  abdomen

This  was  Kiersten's  only  film.
