351 Sisters (1973 )
This was director Brian de Palma's first venture into horror films and it's a self-conscious tribute to Alfred Hitchcock with clear references to Psycho and Rear Window. It's enjoyable enough although the twist is pretty well telegraphed.
Grace Collier is an investigative reporter whose apartment overlooks that of her neighbour, a minor TV actress Danielle Breton. One morning she witnesses the murder of a black man Philip Woode ( Lisle Wilson ) by a deranged woman but by the time the police get there there is no sign of the body and she isn't believed. Grace decides to trail Danielle and her sinister ex-husband Emil ( William Finley ) to discover the truth.
