365 The House of Seven Corpses ( 1974 )
Despite the meta-trappings of focusing on a film crew making a horror movie this is really an old-fashioned old dark house movie . The last 20 minutes or so are quite good but the first hour is a huge yawn.
Eric Hartman ( John Ireland ) is an irascible film director shooting a horror picture in an old mansion where seven members of the Beal family died in one night as recounted by caretaker Price ( John Carradine ). His production assistant David ( Jerry Strickler ) finds a copy of The Tibetan Book of the Dead and suggests it''s worked into the film. When Gail ( Faith Domergue ) reads from it, a zombie arises from his grave.
Carole Wells ( as Anne )
Sex : No
Death : Drowned ( offscreen ) by the zombie
Carole started out as a child actress in the fifties making her name on the TV series National Velvet and Pistols 'n' Petticoats. Carole juggled acting with stage opera until the early nineties when she retired from acting. She has been active in many charities. She is now 75.
