Notable for being Clive Barker's first screenplay and inspiring the name of a 90s dance act, this is more of an anti-drugs fable than a horror film. Dour Larry Lamb plays Roy, a lone wolf enforcer investigatig the mysterious kidnapping of a former girlfriend. This leads him to an underground community of mutants deformed by a dangerous drug. The film has a stronger cast including Denholm Elliott and Art Malik than the material deserves and the mid-eighties trappings grate but it's OK.
Miranda Richardson ( as Oriel)
Sex : No
Death : Gassed
This was Miranda's second film role having broken through earlier in the year with Dance With A Stranger. Miranda was born in Southport and worked on the stage in the north and Midlands before breaking into television and then film, Miranda turned down some big roles that she didn't fancy which stopped her becoming a really big star although she received Oscar nominations for Damage and Tom & Viv .She is a very busy actress dividing her time between Film, TV and the stage.
Nicola Cowper ( as Nicole )
Sex : Nicole is a prostitute
Death : Survives
Nicola was born in London and made her film debut as a baby in a film called A Girl Like Me in 1969. She started appearing on TV in the early eighties and in a few films Since 1988, she has appeared exclusively on TV, most notably in the crime series Dangerfield and in a recurring role on Eastenders.
