541 The Kindred ( 1987 )

 With  a  good  cast  and  some  decent  special  effects, this should  have  been  quite  good . It  isn't , due  to  the  underdeveloped characters  and  a  nonsensical  script  which  never improves  on  its  confusing  and  irrelevant  opening  scenes. David  Allen  Brooks  plays  John  the young scientist  charged by  his  dying  mother with destroying  her  murky experiments. Rod  Steiger  is  the  evil   doctor  trying  to  stop  him.

Death : Mutates into a  fish-like creature  and  expires  after  being  attacked  by  a  mutant

Amanda  is  an  English  actress  who  started  out  appearing  in  pop  videos. She  made  her  film  debut  in  Oxford  Blues  in  1984  and  this  was  her  first  American  film  role. She  married  Corbin  Bernen in 1988  and  her  film  career  tailed off  in  the  nineties  as  she  raised  four  sons,  She  became  an  interior  designer  and  presents  a  show  on satellite TV but  hasn't  entirely  given  up  acting.

Talia  is  a  bit  wasted  here  as  the  sensible  girlfriend.

Julia Montgomery ( as Cynthia )

Julia  is  from Kansas . She  came  to  the  fore  at  sixteen in the  soap One Life To Live  in 1976 . Her  film  careeer  began  in  1981.  She  is  best  known as  Betty Childs  in the  Revenge of the Nerds franchise. Her  screen appearances  have  thinned out  recently  and she might be on the point of retirement.

Death : Drowns  after  driving off  the  road under  mutant attack

Bunky was  born  in  L.A. and  used  a  number  of  different names  in  her handful  of  screen appearances. She  died  in 2015.
