399 The Car (1977)

 Sandwiched  between  Duel  and  Christine  was  this  less  than  rapturously  received film  about  a  demonic  diverless  car  terrorising  a  small  town in  Utah. The  scenes  with  the  car  itself are  quite  exciting  but  when  it's  ofscreen, the  film  slows  to  a  snail's  pace  with  unnecessary  pregnant  pauses, redundant  characters  and  uninteresting  subplots.  

Kathleen Lloyd ( as  Lauren )

Sex : Lauren  is  mistress  to  the  main  character  and  a  schoolteacher who  relishes  being  drawn  naked  by  a  pupil.

Death : Lauren  is  mown  down in  her  own  home  by  the  car.

Kathleen  was  primarily  a  TV  actress  with  recuuring  roles  in  Magnum  and  Hill  Street  Blues. She  seems  to  have  retired  early  in  the  noughties.

Elizabeth Thompson ( as  Margie )

This  was  the  last  screen  role  for  Elizabeth  in  an  unremarkable  bit  part  career.

Kim  and  Kyle  Richards ( as  Lynne  and  Debbie  Parent)

The  real-life  sisters  have  had  similar  careers, successful  child  actresses, not  hitting  the  heights  as  an  adult  then  finding  rebirth  on  reality  TV  on  The  Real  Housewives  Of  Beverley  Hills. Kyle has  had  the  less  colourful  personal  life.

Melody  Thomas  Scott ( as  Suzie )

An  actress  since  the  age  of  eight, Melody's  life  changed  in  1979  when  she  joined  the  cast  of  daytime  soap  The  Young  And  The  Restless  and  has  been  in  it  ever  since. Being  married  to  the  executive  producer  may  have  helped.

Geraldine  Keams  (as  Donna )

Geraldine  is  a  Navajo  Indian  and  made  her  film  debut  in  The  Outlaw  Josey  Wales  the  year  before  this  one. She  is  still  working  and  is  a  highly  respected  actress.
