796 Bedevil (1993 )

This  odd  low budget ( Ed Wood would be proud of the backdrops ) barely  qualifies as horror with its zero kill count and meagre special effects. The film is a portmanteau of  three ghost stories heard as a child by the part-Aborigine writer-director Tracey Moffatt who also stars in the second segment. Although there's the germ of a good idea in all  three, they're all  let  down by indifferent acting, bafflingly  irrelevant scenes and  characters and an inconsistent narrative style. Interesting  but  not  very good,

Tracey Moffatt ( as Ruby )

Sex : No

Death : Survives

Tracey  was born to a white  father  and  aboriginal mother in Brisbane. She  is  primarily  a  photographer and documentary-maker, this  being  to date her only feature  film. Much of her work concerns the  role of Aboriginal women in Australian society.

Dina Panozzo ( as Youla )

Sex : No

Death : Survives

Dina is an Australian actress of Italian extraction. This  was  her  first  film  after TV  work  in  the  eighties including  a  regular role in Richmond Hill. She  is  still  active in Australian TV and cinema.

Patricia Handy (as Minnie )

Sex : Minnie has loud sex with her boyfriend (offscreen )

Death : Killed alongside her boyfriend but the circumstances are never explained

This  was Patricia's only film role.
