This is an interesting attempt at combining a Western with a vampire film but it ultimately fails through a lack of scares and some major plot holes.
In a nineteenth century Western town , young girls are dying of blood loss but Dr Carter ( John Hoyt ) and his friend, preacher Dan ( Eric Fleming ) are stumped as to the cause. Carter has another problem , a greedy neighbour Buffer ( Bruce Gordon ) is trying to force him off his land and when Carter arrives home dead ( his horses having good navigational sense ) Buffer is chief suspect. When Buffer reluctantly kills Carter's son in a shoot out, Carter's daughter Dolores hires a mysterious dark stranger Drake Robey ( Michael Pate ) to avenge her although we know Robey is really the killer, having apparently decided to take a break from virgins and snack on a leathery old man instead.
