515 Fright Night (1985 )

 This  is  something  of  a  meta-vampire  movie  starring  Roddy  McDowall  as  a  TV  vampire  hunter who  has  to  take  up  his  stakes  for  real  when a  teenage  boy  discovers  his  next  door  neighbour  is  a  vampire. The  film  is  fairly  light  in  tone  but  succeeds in  putting  a  fresh  twist  on  the  vampire  flick.

Amanda  Bearse ( as  Amy )

Sex : Amy  offers  herself  to  her  boyfriend  but  he's  distracted by other  events.

Amanda  was  born  in  Florida and  was  primarily  a  TV  actress. Other  than  this  film, She  is  best  remembered  for  a  long  run  in  the sitcom  Married  With  Children  during  which  she  came  out  as  a  lesbian. She  was  allowed  to  cut  her  teeth as  a  director on  the  show  and  has  gone  on  o  direct  episodes  of  many  other  shows  while still  taking  work  as  an  actress.

Irina Irvine ( as teenage  girl )

Sex : She  prepares  for  sex  with  the  vampire

Irina started  out  as  a  ballet  dancer. This  was  her  first  film. Her last  screen  role  was  a semi-regular  one  in  Beauty  And  The  Beast  in 1988-90. She  was  last  heard of  in  2007 studying microbiology at  university.

Heidi  Sorensen ( as  hooker )

Sex : She  arrives for  sex  with  the  vampire.

Death :Drained  of  blood  by  the vampire (offscreen)

Heidi  was  a  former Playboy  model  who  managed  to  work  as  a  bit  part  actress  for  a  dozen  or  so  years. She  is  now  a  counselor  helping  women  recover  from  breast  cancer.

514 Day Of The Dead ( 1985 )

 George  Romero's  third  film in  the  Living  Dead  trilogy  has  the  same  claustrophobic  feel and  the  use  of  unfamiliar  actors as  its  predecessors.  A  small  scientific  team  is  holed  up  in  a  bunker trying  to  find  a  cure  to  the  zombie  apocalypse  guarded  by  a  small  troop  of  soldiers   but  morale  is  starting  to  fray. This  has  some  interesting  ideas   including  more  explanation  of  the  zombies' modus  operandi  but  the  dearth  of  likeable  characters  and  constant  bickering  make  it  a  wearing watch.

Lori Cadrille ( as  Sarah )

Sex : Sarah  has  been  sleeping  with  one  of the soldiers

Lori  grew up  in  PIttsburgh  where  she suffered  child  abuse. She  was  mainly  a  stage  actress  and  this  was  her  first  film. She  retired  from  the screen  in  1994   but  has  made  a  couple  of  appearances  during the  last  decade.

513 The Stuff (1985)

 Larry  Cohen  and  Michael Moriarty ( in  a  toupe ) team up again for  this  satirical horror  about  a  fast  food  destroying  the  minds  of  America. It  owes  a  lot  to  The  Blob  and  moves at  a  fair  pace though  as  ever , Moriarty's  acting  style  is  somewhat  idigestible.

Andrea Marcovicci ( as Nicole )

Sex : Nicole  sleeps  with  Moriarty's  character

Andrea  was  mainly  a  TV  and  highly  regarded  stage  actress  from  Bew  Tork. She  also  has  a  strong singing  voice. She  hasn't appeared  in  anything  since 2019  so  may  have  retired.
