The title of this Hammer offering is very misleading. It's based on the real-life Hungarian Countess Elisabeth Bathory who was no relation to Vlad the Impaler and a sadistic murderess rather than a vampire.
Here, she discovers that the blood of virgins will temporarily restore her beauty and sexual appetite and enlists her servants Dobi ( notorious ham Nigel Green ) and Julie ( Patience Collier ) to keep a supply going while she seduces dashing lieutenant Toth ( Sandor Eles ) in the guise of her own daughter Ilona who she has kept captive on her estate. That's the most obvious of some large plotholes but it's good fun with a terrific career-best central performance.
