133 Blood of Dracula ( 1957 )

This  has  precious  little  to  do  with  any  other  Dracula  film  and  it's  probably  the  worst  with  the  word  in  its  title. It  is  though  one  of  the  first  "teen"  horror  pics .

Nancy  Perkins  is  a  an  inconvenience  to  her  remarried  father  so  he  dumps  her  in  a  girls  prep  school. Nancy's  spiky  attitude  brings  her  to  the  attention  of   creepy  chemistry  teacher Miss  Branding  ( Louise  Lewis ) who's  trying  to  prove  a  thesis  that  if  human  nature's  worst  side  is  revealed  there  wouldn't  be  nuclear  war  or  something. No,  I  don't  get  it  either. She  has  some  sort  of  amulet  that  turns  Nancy  into  a  vampire. Jerry  Blaine - a  very  old  teenager  at  47 - sings  a   terrible  song  called  Puppy  Love  and  rightly  gets  killed   shortly  afterwards. Some  police  and  doctors  eat  up  the  running  time  telling  us  things  we  already  know .

Nancy's  transformation  scenes  are  surprisingly  good  but  otherwise  the  film  is  a  disjointed  mess  that   doesn't  work  at  any  level. There's  some  mild  innuendo  but  the  girls  don't  flash  enough  flesh  to  make  it as an  exploitation  picture.

Sandra Harrison  ( as Nancy  Perkins )

Sex : No

Death : Impaled  on  a  nail  during  a  fight  with  Miss  Branding

This  was  22-year old   Sandra's  only  credited  film  role. She had  a  number  of  guest star  roles  on  TV but  her  career  petered  out   in  the mid-sixties. She  is  now  82.

Gail  Ganley  ( as  Myra )

Sex : No

Death : Survives

At  17   Gail  was  a  genuine  teen. She  had  a  similar  career  to  Sandra's  as  an  actress  but  in  the  mid-eighties  she  came  back  to  films  as  a foley  artist - someone  who  creates sound  effects - and  her  work  can  be  heard  in  over  a  dozen  films. She  retired  in  2003.She  is  now  77.

Heather Ames  ( as  Nola )

Sex : She's  the  sexiest  of  the  girls  with  a  big  chest

Death : Attacked  by  Nancy  and  drained  of  blood

Heather  had  slightly  better  film  roles  than  the other  two  in  the late  fifties  but  she  too disappeared  in  the  mid-sixties

Jean  Dean  ( as  Doris  Perkins )

Sex :  No

Death : Survives

This   was  Jean's  last   film  in  a  B-movie  career  after  success  as  a  model. She  died  in  1993  aged  68.

Shirley  Delancey  ( as  Terry )

Sex  : No

Death : Killed  by  Nancy  in  a  cemetery

Shirley   is  completely obscure. Her  only  other  role  was  in  the  TV  series  Bachelor  Father  the following  year.
