This film has almost nothing to do with Stephenson's tale; mentioning it in the spoken preamble is a real liberty. Hyde is not even mentioned and Jekyll is re-cast as a werewolf in a storyline which is almost identical to The She-Wolf of London though it does have one surprise in store towards the end.
Anne Smith visits her guardian Dr Lomas ( Arthur Shields ) bringing along her fiance ( John Agar ). Lomas has two revelations, one, she's an heiress to a considerable estate and two, her father was Henry Jekyll. Lomas puts her to bed and she has dreams of killing people.
The film has its moments but for the most part it's a predictable plod.
