Though much-dumped on by fans of the franchise for not featuring Michael Myers or any other character ( though some of the cast ) from the other films, I think this is a pretty good film in its own right. The story conerns a Dr Challis ( Tom Atkins ) who investigates the murder of a hysterical patient with the help of the man's daughter and uncovers a diabolical plot to massacre the nation's kids by the crazed Cochran ( Dan O Herlihy). It has science fiction and folklore elements entirely absent from the rest of the series but still maintains a convincingly creepy tone throughout,
Stacey Nelkin ( as Ellie )
Sex : Ellie has sex with Challis
Death : Either she is killed offscreen by Cochran or dies when his factory burns down.
Stacey was a Jewish girl from New York who began acting in the late seventies. She had a brief relationship with Woody Allen but her appearance in
Annie Hall was cut out. This was the biggest of her film roles . She dropped out of acting in the late nineties to raise her family and has since developed a new career as a counsellor particularly on substance abuse though she still dabbles in acting occasionally.
Nancy Loomis ( as Linda Challis )
Sex : No
Death : Survives
Nancy became the only actor to appear in all three films though here she plays a different and much older character. It's only a one scene cameo but more substantial than her appearance in the previous film.
Wendy Wessberg ( as Teddy)
Sex : No
Death : Drilled in the head by one of Cochran's assistants
Apart from an uncredited appearance in Grease, this was Wendy's only film role until 2023. She has been married to TV producer Stu Stegall since 1983.
