490 The Final Terror (1983)

 Friday the 13th  meets  Deliverance  in  this  forest- set  slasher  where a  group  of  young campers  are menaced  by  an  unseen  killer. The  premise  is  fine , the  cast  includes  a  couple  of  famous  names  but  it  falls  a  bit  flat  due  to a  low  kill  count , paper-thin  characters  and  poor  acting.

Daryl Hannah  ( as Windy )

Daryl's  career  had  progressed to  be  the  first  named  female  though  she  really  has  no  more  screen  time  than  the others.

Rachel Ward ( as Margaret )

Akosua  Busia ( as Vanessa)

Akosua  was  a  politician's  daughter  from  Ghana  and  just 14  at  the  time  of  filming. It  was  her  second  film  role. She  achieved greatest  recognition  for  her  role  in  The  Colour  Purple  but  failed  to  build  on  that  and  gradually  diversified into  writing including a novel, screenplay  and  song  with  Stevie  Wonder . She  retired  from  acting  in  2007 to  raise  a  family  but  returned  to  the  stage in 2016.

Cindy  Harrell   ( as Melanie )

Sex : Melanie  is  having  sex with  her  boyfriend  when  he  is  stabbed

Death : Has  her  throat  slit  (offscreen) after  being  held  captive  for  a  time.

This  was  Cindy's  second  film  in  a  short  career  mainly  in  TV. She  retired  into  private  life  at  the  end  of  the  eighties.

Lori Butler ( as Lori )

Sex : No

Death :  Sliced  up  by  tin  lids  in  a  booby  trap

Lori  wa  a  bit  part  actress  mainly  on  TV  between 1983 and 1994.
