488 Curtains (1983)

 This  Canadian  film  wastes  a  notable  cast  on  a  slasher  with  pretensions. John Vernon plays  an  egotistical  film  director who  arranges  for  his  actress friend  Samantha  ( Samantha  Eggar ) to  enter a mental asylum  to  prepare for  the  film  role  of  a  madwoman. From  that  point,  it  seems  like  one  of  the  patients  might  have  written  the  rest  of  the  script. Stryker  invites  six  other women  to  his  snowbound  mansion  to  audition for  the  part, most  of  them  glaringly  unsuitable. Samantha  escapes  and  the women  start  dying. The  film  manages  a  couple  of  impressive  set  pieces but  the  script is  all  over  the  place  with  too  many  plotholes to  count.

Linda  was  born  in Canada  but  moved  to the  UK in  1965  to  study acting  and  has  divided  her  time  between  the  two  countries  ever  since. Equally  comfortable  on film, TV  or  on  stage,  she  is  best  remembered  as  Tara  King  in  the  last  series  of The  Avengers .Beween  2066 and  2007 she  appeared  in  Emmerdale  as  a  villainess..She  is  currently  appearing  in  the  relaunched  The  Hardy Boys.  

Anne Ditchburn ( as  Laurian )

Sex :  Laurian  has  to  reluctantly  fondle  another  actress's  breast in  an  audition.

Death : Laurian has  her  throat slit

Anne  was  primarily  a  ballet  dancer , working  as  a  dancer  and  choreographer  at the  National  Ballet of Canada  from 1967 to  1979. She  started  acting  in  1976  though  usually  playing  dancers  and  often  helping  out  with  the choreography  as  she  did  here. She  retired  into  private  life  in 1989.

Lynn  Griffin ( as Patti )

Sex : No

Death  : Survives

Lynn  has  been  working  in  film  and  TV  since  1970, her  first  film  role  being  in  Black  Christmas  in  1974. She  is  also  a  noted  Shakespearean  actress. She  has  rarely  acted  outside  Canada. She  is  still  active.

Lesleh  Donaldson ( as Christi )

Sex : Christi  has  sex with  Stryker

Death : Christi  is  decapitated  with  a  sickle

Lesleh's  character  makes no  sense  at  all in  this  one. Lesleh  trained  to  do  the  skating  sequence  herself  but  was  injured  on  the  first  day  of  shooting  and  a  double  took  over.

Sandee  Currie ( as  Tara )

Sex : Tara  has  sex  in  the  jacuzzi  with  the  caretaker

Death : Hacked  to  death  with  an  axe  offscreen

Sandee  gets  to  show  more  of  her  body  in  this  one.

Deborah Burgess ( as Amanda )

Sex : Amanda  has rape cosplay  with  her  boyfriend

Death :  Stabbed  repeatedly

Deborah  had  a  20  year  career  mainly  in  TV  movies  from 1979 to  1999.
