238 Blood Bath ( 1966 )

This  Roger  Corman film  had  a  very  strange  history. It  started  out  as  a  spy  thriller  made  in  Yugoslavia  named  Operation  Titian. Corman  wasn't  happy  with  the  results  so  he  shot  some  new  footage  to  turn  it  into  a  horror  film  about  a  murderous  painter  named  Sordi. He  still  wasn't  happy  so  he  shot  some  more  footage - with  a  different  actor  because  William  Campbell  wouldn't  co-operate - to  make  it  a  vampire  film. The  result  is  disjointed  and  difficult  to  follow  but  the  three  stunning  females  make  it  worth  watching.

Marissa  Mathes  ( as  Daisy  Allen )

Sex : Poses  nude  for  Sordi  although  her  private  parts  are  hidden

Death : Sordi  hacks  her  to  death  with  a  cleaver

Marissa  was  a  former  Playboy  model  who  had  a  brief  acting  career, mainly  on  TV, in  the  sixties.  She  is  now  77.

Sandra  Knight  ( as  Donna  Allen )

Sex : No

Death : Donna's  throat  is  slashed  by  Sordi

Sandra  was  happy  to  help  Corman  complete  the  picture  although  her  role  is  relatively  small

Linda  Saunders  ( as  Dorean )

Sex : Dorean  looks  fantastic  in  swimwear and  dancing  costume  throughout  the film

Death : Survives

Linda  had  already  found  her  breakthrough role  in  TV  series Petticoat  Junction  by  the  time  this  was  released  and  was  a  star  for  the  rest  of  the  decade. She  attempted  to  change  her  wholesome  image  in  the  seventies  but  her  career  faded and  she  retired in  1980 , occupying  her  time  with  art  and  veganism  since. She  is  now  75.
