162 Earth vs. the Spider ( 1958 )

This  is  another  Bert  Gordon  effort  but  this  one's  uniformly  dreadful, badly  acted, badly  structured  and  badly  realised.  The  special  effects are  dreadful with  some  particularly  dreadful  explosions.

Carol  Flynn  and  her  boyfriend  Mike  ( Eugene  Persson )  go  looking  for  her  missing  father  and  are  chased  out  of  a  cave  by  a  giant  tarantula. They  come  back  with  their  science  teacher  Mr  Kingman  ( Ed  Kremmer )  and  the  local  sheriff  who  knock  out  the  spider  and  store  it  in  the  school  hall. June  has  a  more  substantial  part  in  this  one  as  the  heroine's  mother.

Sally  Fraser  ( as  Helen  Kingman )

This  is  a  poor  part  for  Sally  compared to  Giant  from  the  Unknown.

Nancy  Kilgas  ( as  Dancer )

Nancy  was  a  bit  part  actress  active  between  1954  and  1966. She  is  now  86.
