This is a well-made if slightly dull sci-fi horror film.
Marshall Thompson stars again as Ed Carruthers, the only survivor of a mission to Mars. A rescue party comes to take him back for court martial on the assumption that he has killed the others. They soon find that the guilty party is actually a brutal and near-indestructible stowaway. The similarity to Alien is obvious though I'm not aware if Ridley Scott has ever acknowledged it as an influence.

Shawn was originally Shirley Patterson and acted under that name in the forties when she had a reasonable career in B-movies. She had a career break from 1947 to 1953 to raise her child and chose a fresh name when she made her comeback. Her career ended dramatically when she smashed her leg in a ski-ing accident making this her last film. She died of cancer in 1995 aged 73.
