This little-known Hammer movie is more of an historical adventure yarn than a horror film with more violence than shocks but it's got a good plot and an impressive cast headed by Peter Cushing. It was released as Night Creatures in the US
Captain Collier ( Patrick Allen ) leads a party of government men to a small village on Romney Marshes which is suspected of large scale smuggling. The village is also the burial place of a notorious pirate Captain Clegg and there is a legend of ghostly horsemen roaming the marshes at night . These narrative strands are brought together in entertaining fashion.
