455 The Hearse (1980)

 This  movie  decently  acted  and  filmed  but  the  plot  is  all  over  the  place. It  doesn't know  whether it's  a  haunted  house film ,   an  occcult  thriller  or  a  killer  car  movie  and  ends  up  just  swirling  the  pot  around  and  hoping  something  digestible  emerges. A  teacher  retreats  to  a  country  house to  get  over  a  divorce  but  the  locals  are  largely  unfriendly and  spooky  gooings  on  start  happening  sometimes  involving  a  hearse. Is  Tom  the  handome  stranger  her  salvation ?  This  film  is  very  low  on  shocks  and  the  ending  is  very  lame.

Trish  came  from  a  wealthy  New  Jersey family  but  had  a  strong  philanthropic urge  co-founding  the  Poor  People's  Theatre  Company  and  funding  it  from  her  TV  success. In  her  third  film The  Last  Run, she  starred  alongside  George  C  Scott  who  she  married  shortly  afterwards. They  worked  together  on  a  number  of  films. Her  screen  appearances  became less  frequent  as  Scott's  health  declined  and  she  retired  following  his  death  in 1999.

This  was  Allison's  first  film  role. She  found  more  success  on  TV  with  a  regular  role  in  later  series of  Little  House  On  The  Prairie.. After  1987,  acting  took  a  back  seat  tp  folk  singing  though  she  popped  up  in  a  film  in 2013.
