241 Island of Terror ( 1966 )

Peter  Cushing  leads  the  cast  of  this  rather  dated  science  fiction  horror  about  benign  experiments  getting  out  of  hand. The  whole  film  has  a  rather  Dr Who  feel  about  it  especially when  the  monsters, the  Silicates, are  revealed  and look  like  angry  vacuum  cleaners.

Cushing  plays  Dr  Stanley  a  pathologist  who  is  called  to  a  Scottish  island  by  the  resident  doctor  , Landers  ( Eddie  Byrne )  after  the  discovery  of  a  corpse  without  any  bones. He  brings  along  a  younger  doctor David  West  ( Edward  Judd )  and   they  investigate  the activities  of  a  reclusive  scientist  on  the  other  side  of  the  island.

Sex :  Toni's   intended  night  of  passion  with  Dr  West  is  thwarted  by  the arrival  of  Stanley  and  Landers

Death  : Survives

Carole  brings  a  touch  of  glamour  to  the  film  but  otherwise  her  role  is  superfluous  to  proceedings.
