This British sci-fi horror is clearly inspired by Alien although the film makers strenuously denied the charge A group of loosely defined scientists are investigating the remains of a dead civilisation on a distant planet but guess what it's not so dead after all. One of the female crew, Sandy, is artificially inseminated by a ropey-looking alien and turns into a homicidal cannibal while waiting to give birth.
In fairness, most of the grisly effects are OK given the limited budget, The real problem is the script which fails to establish half the character's roles and contains numerous inconsistencies. One moment Sandy is bent over with labour pains, the next she's throwing men twice her size around the room. Crew members go to sleep or listen to music in their underwear well after things have started to go pear-shaped . One award the film is in contention for is the most ludicrous nonsensical death scene in any film ( see below )
Judy Geeson ( as Sandy )
Sex : Sandy has sex with her boyfriend then is artificially inseminated by an alien
Death : Strangled by her boyfriend
This was Judy's first horror film since Fear In The Night.
