This Canadian slasher is a superior example of the genre with a thoughtful script , intriguing setting and some very grisly kills. A small coastal mining town is planning to hold its first St Valentine's Day dance for 20 years since a murder spree by an enraged miner thought to be still residing in an asylum. When killings start to resume the dance is called off but the local youngsters decide to have a party in the mine itself. The only downer is that the miserable entitled hero is so dislikeable.
