David Cronenberg cemented his place as a mainstream film-maker with this successful shocker about a brood of telepaths with the ability to use their powers destructively. Cameron Vale ( Stephen Lack ) is a vagrant tormented by voices in his head who is brought in to a shady concern called Consec . Dr Ruth ( Patrick McGoohan ) explains that he is a "scanner" and not alone but all the others have either been killed or brought under the sway of a renegade scanner named Revok ( Michael Ironside in his breakthrough role ). He sends Yale out to infilrate Revok's operation. The eventual confrontation between Revok and Yale reveals more plot holes than answers but it's still a good watch.
Jennifer O Neill (as Kim )

Jennifer was born in Brazil and began working life as a teenaged model. She broke into films in the early seventies and is best remembered as the adultress in Summer of 42.
