Halloween was not the first film that could be described as a slasher movie but it was the game-changer, the one that set the rules . The story is pretty simple. Mute fratricidal killer Michael Myers returns to his home town pursued by half-crazed Dr Loomis to cut up some more pretty girls on Halloween night and that's it really but John Carpenter's direction and musical score make it a classic.

The daughter of screen legends Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh , Jamie had some TV roles before this but this film made her a star. Despite marrying into the English aristocracy in 1984, she remained an actress and enjoyed further triumphs such as A Fish Called Wanda and True Lies. Despite this, she has remained very loyal to the role of Laurie Strode returning to it a further four times in the franchise. Jamie was the only genuine teenager in the film.

Nancy made an unconventional break into acting when she took a role in Assault On Precinct 13 on which she was wardrobe mistress. Most of her subsequent appearances were in John Carpenter films. She now prefers to be known as Nancy Kyes and is a sculptress in Los Angeles.
