449 The Boogeyman (1980 )

 The  title and  the  opening  sequence  suggest  a  virtual  re-tread  of  Halloween  but  it  then  goes  somewhere  quite  different  suggesting  a  deliberate  piece  of  misdirection. After  horrendous  abuse at  the hands  of  mother's  boyfriend, a  young  boy  named  Willy  kills  him  with  a  knife  supplied  by  sister  Lacey. Twenty  years  later  he  can't  talk  and  she's  having  nightmares. A   therapeutic visit to  the  place  where  it  happened   makes  things  worse  by  unleashing  a  malevolent supernatural  force. The  narrative then  goes  haywire  with  the  targeting  of  random bystanders, loose  ends  galore  and  nothing  really  explained. With  the  exception  of  horror  veteran  John  Carradine  as  a  psychiatrist, the  acting  is  pretty  ropey  too.

Suzanna  Lane  ( as  Lacey )

Suzanna was  a  rich  girl  from  Manhattan who  made  her  film  debut in  Hair  but  mainly  worked , as  here, on  her  husband  Uli  Lommel's  films. She  co-wrote  the  screenplay  for  this  and  other  films  he  made  and  also  helped  with  the  finance. They  divorced  in  1987  but  she  made  one  last  film  with  him, A Smile  In  The  Dark, in  1991. She  left  the  business  immediately  afterwards.

Natasha  Schiano ( as  young  Lacey)

This  was  Natasha's  only  film  role.

Gillian Gordon ( as Mother )

Sex: Mother  is  having  sex  with  her  boyfriend  when  he  is  killed

Death :  Claims  to  be  dying  in  a  letter  but  her  death  is  never  confirmed.

 

Gillian  was  part  of  the  production  team on  this , the  final  one  of  her  three  film  roles.

Jane  Pratt ( as Jane )

Sex : Jane  cuts  open  her  dress to  reveal a boob

Death : Induced  to  stab  herself  in  the  throat  with  scissors

This  was  17  year  old  Jane's  first  film  role. Not  long  after  it, she   diverted  into  journalism  becoming  editor-in-chief  of  a  teen  magazine  called  Sassy. She  tried  to  break  into  TV  as  a  talk  show  host  but  failed. She  currently  edits  a  magazine  called  Jane. 

Lucinda Ziesing ( as Susan )

Sex : No

Death :: Uncertain - she's  hit  by  a  cupboard  door  but  not  really  with  enough  force  to  kill  her

This  was  Lucinda's  only  film  role.

Katie  Casey ( as  Jenny )

Sex : Jennie  is  giving  her  boyfriend  a  blow  job  when  interrupted

Death : Falls  on  the  knife  sticking  out  of  her  boyfriend's  mouth

This  was  Katie's  only  film  role.

Claudia  Porcelli  ( as  Caroline )

Claudia  is  credited  as  make-up  artist  on  four  other  films  but  this  is  her  only  appearance  in  front  of  the  camera.

Cathy  Tambini ( as Katie )

Sex : Katie  attempts  to  seduce  Willy

Cathy  was  another  crew  member  helpingg  fill  out  the  cast  though  she  has  one  or  two  other  credits  as  an  extra. She  worked  in  the  art  department  on  successful  films like  The  Hand  That  Rocks  The  Cradle  and  Steel Magnolias. More  recently , she  has  been  a  documentary  film-maker.;
